What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website saves in your browser.
Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technology: it keeps small pieces of data in your browser without sending them to the site automatically.
In this notice, “cookies” means both.
Your choice
- Strictly necessary and preference cookies always run because the site needs them. They are not used to profile you.
- Audience measurement and advertising cookies are off by default. They are turned on only if you click “Accept all” or switch them on under “Customize”.
- Your choice is kept for 12 months. After that, we ask you again.
- You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. Refusing takes one click.
- If you withdraw your consent, we turn these tools off immediately and delete their cookies stored under our domain (
_ga,_ga_*,_fbp,_fbc). Cookies that Google or Meta set on their own domains are managed in your account settings with those companies or in your browser. - Refusing optional cookies does not limit your access to the site.
1. Strictly necessary
These technologies make the site work and keep it secure. They cannot be turned off in the banner. You can block them in your browser, but some features may then not work properly.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Cookie choices (local storage pm-consent) | Poke Monster | Remember your choices so we don’t ask on every visit | 12 months |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare | Protect our forms against bots and spam. According to Cloudflare, Turnstile does not use cookies to collect or store information. It analyzes technical signals at the time of submission. | Duration of the check |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tell humans from bots (Cloudflare bot protection) | 30 minutes of inactivity |
2. Preferences
This data stays in your browser. It is not sent to us and is not used to profile you.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Last restaurant chosen (local storage pm-store) | Poke Monster | Remember the restaurant you ordered from, so the site assistant can talk about it | Until you clear this site’s data in your browser |
Geolocation: if you click “Near me”, your location is used only to sort restaurants by distance and to show where you are on the map, in your browser. It is neither sent nor stored.
3. Audience measurement (off by default)
These cookies help us understand how the site is used (pages viewed, where visits come from, device) so we can improve it.
- They can recognize you as a returning visitor.
- Google signals and ad personalization are turned off.
- Google processes this data, including in the United States, under its privacy policy.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google (Google Analytics) | Distinguish visitors using a random identifier | 12 months |
_ga_<identifier> | Google (Google Analytics) | Keep session state | 12 months |
4. Advertising (off by default)
The Meta Pixel is used for profiling for advertising purposes:
- to measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram work;
- to show you relevant Poke Monster ads on those platforms;
- to build advertising audiences.
Meta processes this data, including in the United States, and also uses it for its own purposes, under its privacy policy.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Pixel (script) | Meta Platforms | Send Meta the visits and actions on the site (for example, a page viewed) | Loaded only after your consent |
_fbp | Meta Platforms | Identify your browser for ad measurement and targeting | 90 days, extended with each visit |
_fbc | Meta Platforms | Remember the click on a Meta ad that brought you to the site | 90 days |
If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may also use its own cookies, set on its domains, under its policy.
5. Embedded content (loaded only on click)
Videos and maps load only if you click “Show”. Before that click, no data is sent to these providers. After the click, the provider may set its own cookies and collect data (for example, your IP address and how you interact with the content) under its own policy.
| Content | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videos (privacy-enhanced mode) | Play the video | Set by Google | |
| TikTok videos | TikTok | Play the video | Set by TikTok |
| Instagram posts | Meta Platforms | Show the post | Set by Meta |
| Google Maps | Show a restaurant’s location and directions | Set by Google |
Exception: the map on the Locations page. This map loads with the page. Its base map comes from OpenFreeMap, which sets no cookies. To get the map images, your browser sends your IP address to OpenFreeMap; according to its privacy policy, OpenFreeMap does not keep it in its access logs.
6. Links to ordering sites
“Order” buttons take you to pokemonster.order-online.ai, our online ordering platform, operated by a third-party vendor. That platform uses its own cookies under its own policies. Our site does not pass any cookie to it.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you clear the site’s data, the banner will appear again.
